Sue had real problems with her boots. She could not get a pair of rental boots to fit, so we bought her some of her own. Evene these caused a lot of problems and we ended going back to the shop several times for minor adjustments.

Trying to sort out boots and in particular getting custom insoles made took most of the morning, which explains the relatively small amount of skiing.

After lunch, I went straight to the backside and the black runs into Thaynes Canyon. On the ride up Motherlode after a fairly difficult run down the lower part of Single Jack, I spoke to someone who recommended the top of Ford Country and the bottom of Glory Hole as a good place to practice moguls and this combination kept me busy for most of the afternoon.

Both runs were in good condition, softened up nicely in the sun. From the top of Motherlode it is a gentle cruise down the top section of Prospector to the left turn into Ford Country. The top section is almost flat and the steepness gradually increases. The bumps on the right hand side proved to be a little gentler than the ones in the middle. Nearer the bottom, Ford County steepens markedly, but it is possible with just a couple of wide turns in the area between the runs to cut across to Glory Hole just below its steepest part. Finally there is a short run out along Thaynes Canyon to the bottom of the very slow Motherlode lift.
